Muster 0800 at the intersection of NE 3rd Ave & Grant St for Hillsboro 4th of July Parade.
For over 15 years we’ve had a US Marine Formation in this “Hillsboro Rotary 4th of July Parade“, one of the largest in Oregon.
Our formation is now a feature unit, estimated at 8 vehicles and 90 personnel, and we encourage all of you to join us in this historic, patriotic, fun event, honoring the Birth of Our Nation. The crowds lining the route look forward to seeing “The Marines” and cheer us, as we approach and pass their locations.
Please attend!, joining your respective organization. The “Uniform of the Day” is simply whatever identifies you as a Marine or Hospital Medical Corpsman: uniform, ball cap, shirt, etc. If you don’t have a ‘parent organization’ but are a Marine or Corpsman ‘vet’, suit up with your shirt & cap and we’ll quickly find a unit for you to join…
The parade starts @ 1000, but due to the high volume of participants and ‘viewers’, compounded by early street closures to accommodate a (possible) running event crossing neighboring streets, I urge all of you joining our formation to come early.
For your information, please review the 3 attachments: Formation diagram/”Announcer’s Script“, Assembly Area” diagram and Parade Route Map.
Note: Parking areas for vehicles NOT in the parade are clearly marked on the Parade Route Map*, but another nice one within easy walking distance of our “muster location” is located on NE 1st Ave, between NE Lincoln and NE Jackson streets.
* Note: The folks bringing the “Mule” vehicle may want to park their truck & trailer on NE Jackson School Rd, or Hare Field, and simply drive the Mule to our Muster Location.
