The importance of recruitment & retention

LtGen. G.W. Smith, a true combat warrior and the CG of I MEF, (a Recon officer) recently gave a speech which lauded the influence of retired Marine generals and our forebearers, performance of Marines currently on duty, and importance of retention and recruiting. He also focused on the necessity of the Corps to not sacrifice its role as a force-in-readiness and global presence. Many have spoken of him as a future Commandant. He now has a retirement date of 30 Sep 2023.)
